A Snack Exclusive to Emperors? - Dragon's Beard Candy

Dragon's Beard Candy is said to be a snack exclusive to Chinese emperors, melting in the mouth with a sweet but not cloying taste. This delicacy, also known as "fairy floss candy," is a long-lost traditional Chinese treat. First, honey and malt are slowly boiled to form a block, which is then cooled slightly before being pulled multiple times to create fine strands. It is said that in ancient times, it was carefully made by the palace kitchen and served to the emperor, hence the name "Dragon's Beard Candy." The malt candy is rolled into thin strands, cut into small segments, and filled with your favorite ingredients such as peanuts or coconut, melting in the mouth with a sweet but not cloying taste.
