Can Red Bean Cake be Served Hot?

As the name suggests, red bean cake is a pastry made mainly from red beans and a dough mixture. It is a classic Hong Kong dessert, and the red color of the pastry exudes a festive Chinese atmosphere. During the Lunar New Year, traditional families would make red bean cake to give as gifts to their relatives and friends.

There was a time when red bean cake was just as popular as turnip cake and rice cake. Hong Kong-style red bean cake is sweet, soft, and glutinous, with whole red beans mixed in. There are many ways to eat it, and some people like to eat it with coconut milk or even coconut milk cake.

In terms of serving, red bean cake can be served hot or cold, depending on personal preference.
