平民補品—粟米鬚水

Common Remedy - Corn Silk Water

A corn is a treasure trove of goodness, and besides the edible kernels, the silk-like strands on the ear of corn also have multiple uses. In English, they are called Corn Silk, while in traditional Chinese medicine, they are known as "Dragon Whiskers". Despite their unassuming appearance, they have many benefits. Corn silk has a sweet taste and balanced properties that help to promote diuresis, reduce swelling, clear the liver and gallbladder, and possess anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It can also enhance immunity and improve hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and hyperglycemia. It is a beneficial remedy for summer heat relief and dampness removal and can be consumed as a cold or hot drink.
